Industrial Projects

  • Consumers Energy Melching Inc. performed demolition and asbestos abatement of three separate substations for consumers energy. The work for the demolition exceeded $400,000 and for the asbestos abatement over $100,000.
  • Muskegon County Land Bank Melching Inc., performed over 100 demolitions in our first round of Hardest Hit Funding. All of the demolitions occurred within the City of Muskegon Heights. We found working with Melching to be quite productive. Given the time constraints under which we were operating, I thought Melching delivered on a consistent basis, meeting timelines and staying within the work specs and contract stipulations. In a project of this size, there are bound to be minor glitches. When they did arise, Melching took care of the matters quickly and to our satisfaction. It was my pleasure to work with Melching. I found everyone easy to work with, from top to bottom. It is my hope they will bid on future work. I would highly recommend Melching for any demolition services. Tim Burgess

  • Sun Chemical Company Melching demolition completed an industrial site demolition project for my corporation. The project included clearing of chemicals from buildings, tanks and piping, asbestos surveys and abatement, demolition of over 20 buildings and final site cleanup. Melching effectively managed subcontractors to gather and dispose of the chemicals as needed. Our corporate oversight required extensive documentation of the project along with regular meetings with an environmental oversight company. The project was completed safely, within the required timeframe, and under budget. Melching provided suggestions for alternate approaches to our original scope of work and implementing these alternatives brought the project in well under budget. Melching personnel were professional and knowledgeable in all aspects of the work and easy to work with on project implementation. I would definitely recommend Melching Demolition for demolition projects. James Kellington

  • Prime Construction & Development We would like to complement Melching Demolition once again on a job well-done. This project was very challenging with respect to scope, schedule and budget. We would like to especially acknowledge an exceptional job done by your foreman, Dan Jere. Dan became our “go-to” guy and he handled many complicated tasks that were critical in completing this project under difficult time constraints. Dan stepped up in a variety of areas including demolition, shoring, material movement, clean up, temporary enclosures, etc. We really appreciate Melching Demolition and look forward to future projects together. • Franklin Partners Melching Demolition has done a variety of work for Franklin Partners on various projects. The scope of work has been demolition of entire structures, sections of buildings, mechanical systems, asbestos abatement, and a variety of wall and interior demolition prior to a building retrofit. All work has been performed in a cost effective, professional manner and done timely. Doug Melching has helped with LEEDS certification on one project with the proper recycling and documentation. I recommend Melching Demolition as a demolition contractor. Gary Tamminga
    Director of Facilities

  • Robert L. Searcy, P.Eng. In 2007, I was a consulting engineer for Carisal Unlimited out of Trinidad on a demolition project of a Calcium Chloride plant in Manistee, Michigan. From April to December, 2007, I worked closely with Mr. Melching and his crew on a full-time basis. I found Melching Demolition to be competent and professional. They worked with skill and efficiency in a safe manner with due concern for Michigan’s environmental and labor regulations. The work was completed at the site in 2008. I was very pleased with the quality of the work done and with the efforts and cooperation of the Melching crew and Mr. Melching himself. Robert L. Searcy, P.Eng.
